Dinsmore’s Karen Gaunt & Lynda Roesch Named Top Attorneys in Trademark Law
Dinsmore IP partners Karen Gaunt and Lynda Roesch have been recognized by World Trademark Review (WTR) in its 2018 edition of WTR 1000, a listing of the standout firms and attorneys in trademark law. Dinsmore & Shohl LLP was also one of nine firms to receive recognition in Ohio and one of seven in Michigan.
WTR 1000 describes Karen Gaunt as a “soft IP and advertising maven” who “crafts tailor-made strategies to deal with the most difficult brand rights challenges.” Gaunt leads Dinsmore’s branding and advertising practice, counseling clients on transactional and litigation matters involving trademarks. She also negotiates licensing, outsourcing, sponsorship and other agreements, and litigates in these areas.
Lynda Roesch is lauded by WTR 1000 for prosecution matters and having “the experience to deal with any problem that may arise.” Roesch counsels clients on trademark clearance and registrations. Roesch, who has prosecuted trademark applications for over 30 years, focuses on litigation involving intellectual property at the trial court and appellate levels.
WTR 1000 breaks down the global field into regions and is the only standalone directory that focuses entirely on Trademark law. It focuses on each market to identify the top firms and attorneys. To compile the list, researchers solicit reviews over a four month period from hundreds of clients and lawyers. Firms are judged by the depth of services they can provide in support of the top trademark attorneys.
According to WTR 1000, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP operates a “cutting edge IP practice in Ohio.” WTR 1000 goes on to say Dinsmore is “widely lauded for its assistance in the registration of non-conventional marks, it also packs a punch in domain name disputes, anti-counterfeiting and litigation.”
