Thomas R. Harbert

Biography

Tom Harbert was born and raised in Orlando and is a member of the Real Estate practice group at Dinsmore. He has been practicing law for over thirty-five years in both Florida and Georgia, handling complex real estate transactional and land development matters. In addition to serving as closing agent, his duties often include drafting and negotiating complex transactional documents, due diligence and title review, resolution of title issues, environmental assessment review and other related matters. Tom has been responsible for handling numerous large commercial real estate matters for a large healthcare system in the Central Florida area including assisting with the acquisition, development and sale of numerous real estate parcels for the system. 

In addition to his transactional practice, Tom handles commercial real estate lending matters for financial institutions. Duties include handling all aspects of commercial loan closings including drafting of all loan documents, due diligence, acting as closing agent and other related lending matters.  Tom has also represented lenders and borrowers in various loan workout matters and short sale transactions. Tom’s practice also includes the representation of landlords and tenants in complex commercial leasing matters.

Tom is the office managing partner for the Orlando office and was the former managing shareholder of his predecessor firm Mateer & Harbert, P.A.
