Stephen F. Richard

Biography

Stephen is an experienced healthcare attorney with over 15 years navigating complex legal issues within the healthcare industry.  He is committed to providing strategic counsel and representation to hospitals, physician groups and other healthcare providers.  Stephen’s work has been dedicated to serving as in-house counsel for nonprofit healthcare entities including a pediatric academic medical center and an adult integrated health system.  Specifically, he has spent his career supporting acute care hospitals, physician groups, population health initiatives, pharmacy and 340B activity, virtual care delivery models and other corporate matters.  Most recently, Stephen served as Assistant General Counsel at the largest nonprofit healthcare system in North Texas.

In his practice, Stephen has addressed a wide range of issues related to hospital operations, medical staff and licensure issues, patient grievance, provider employment, practice acquisitions, healthcare regulatory compliance, fair market value, physician services agreements, virtual care buildout and other corporate transactions in the healthcare space.  His understanding and familiarity with the day-to-day challenges faced by hospitals and physicians, and the business and legal environment in which they operate, ensures his clients receive expert legal advice combined with practical, strategic guidance that bridges legal theory and real-world application.
