Dinsmore Attorneys Christopher Hammond, Diana Vicen Promoted to Partner
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is proud to announce two of its Columbus attorneys have been elected to partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2020. They are part of a larger group of 18 Dinsmore lawyers nationwide earning the title in the New Year.
The local attorneys to earn the distinction are Christopher Hammond—who practices with a number of Dinsmore’s groups, including Corporate & Transactional, Corporate Taxation and Private Client & Family Wealth—and Diana Vicen, who focuses on public finance.
“When we empower our attorneys, good things happen,” said Dinsmore Chairman and Managing Partner George Vincent. “I’m looking forward to this next generation putting their stamp on the firm. I have nothing but excitement for the future.”
We spoke with both Hammond and Vicen. See what they had to say about this career milestone below:
Christopher Hammond, Corporate & Transactional:
“Making partner is easily the pinnacle of my career achievements to date. I started with Dinsmore in Cincinnati in 2012 and had the opportunity to work with a large cross-section of attorneys in a variety of offices. In 2015, I relocated back home to Columbus to be closer to family. By doing so, I’ve had the opportunity to work with an incredible number of brilliant people and to analyze an incredible amount of sophisticated issues.
“My goals are to continue to maximally contribute to the partnership while making sure I am the best husband and father I can be away from the office.”
Diana Vicen, Public Finance:
“I began my career at Peck, Shaffer & Williams LLP and was part of the merger into Dinsmore in March, 2014, during my third year as an associate. Since then, I’ve practiced with the public finance group. Becoming partner has been my greatest career achievement to date and is what I have aspired to since 2010, when I started as a summer associate. Knowing that my colleagues voted me to become their partner, and that I’ve learned the skills to effectively serve our clients is what I was hopeful to achieve as I started out as a young lawyer.
“Going forward, I hope to continue to grow my client base and serve my existing clients efficiently and effectively. I also hope to grow our public finance practice as a whole and be a good teacher and resource for the younger generation of associates in our practice.”
