Heavy Hitter Eddie Edwards, Jr. Brings High-Stakes Sports and Entertainment Practice Back to Dinsmore
One of the nation’s most respected and influential sports and entertainment industry attorneys has rejoined national law firm Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Corporate group based in its Pittsburgh office. Edwin “Eddie” Edwards, Jr. returns to Dinsmore after expanding his powerhouse practice to multiple states, including the West Coast, where he solidified his reputation by representing high-profile clients from major sports leagues, including the NFL and leading entertainment companies. With two decades of experience navigating complex contract negotiations, litigation and corporate governance, Eddie now offers clients the benefit of his national reach and deep industry insight, seamlessly advising on the high-stakes, lucrative world of professional sports and entertainment from coast to coast.

Eddie thrives in the sports management sector, having operated the Football Division of a prominent athlete representation company based in West Hollywood, CA. In that role, he managed personnel, advised clients on contractual matters and navigated endorsement and Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. As a certified contract advisor with the NFL Players Association and a registered agent with the National Basketball Players Association, Eddie’s legal acumen extends across multiple sports and entertainment verticals.
Throughout his career, Eddie has also excelled in the corporate sector by leading teams of attorneys in complex business transactions, including joint ventures, equity purchases, real estate acquisitions and asset sales. His background includes managing all aspects of high-value projects, from coordinating funding and transaction structure to overseeing regulatory and commercial compliance. Eddie’s experience nicely complements Dinsmore’s nationally recognized transactional teams and deepens its Corporate practice presence in Pennsylvania.

Eddie earned a communications degree from Penn State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Beyond his legal practice, Eddie serves on several nationally recognized boards, where he lends his expertise to guide strategic investments, business development initiatives and community-focused programs. He has also served as vice president of a holding company overseeing eight television stations in major markets across the United States. In that role, he oversaw day to day operations while assisting the President of the company in the negotiation of television agreements with some of the nation’s largest networks, and the experience continues to shape his approach to law and business.
