Dinsmore’s Sarah Smith and Allison Griswold Join Elite Ranks of Texas Board-Certified Insurance Lawyers

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is proud to announce that Houston managing partner Sarah Smith and partner Allison Griswold have achieved the Texas Board of Legal Specialization’s (TBLS) attorney certification in insurance law. They are two of just 65 attorneys in Texas with this level of certification in their practice area.

Established by the Supreme Court of Texas in 1974, TBLS only certifies lawyers and paralegals with substantial, relevant experience in select areas of law. Those certified must also complete 60 hours of continuing legal education in their specialty area and pass a rigorous exam.

This certification demonstrates that Sarah and Allison are proven thought leaders and knowledgeable insurance industry experts that clients can turn to for insurance matters in the Lone Star State.  

Sarah’s robust practice focuses on complex litigation, with a strong emphasis on commercial and contractual disputes. With over 15 years of experience litigating cases nationwide, Sarah has built a reputation for excellence in handling marine and energy matters, indemnity disputes and catastrophic casualty claims. Sarah is also highly skilled in managing first-party claims stemming from catastrophic events, demonstrating her ability to tackle intricate, high-stakes legal challenges with precision and expertise.

Allison is an experienced litigation attorney who provides exceptional legal representation in insurance coverage, commercial contract disputes, trucking litigation and personal injury defense. Practicing across Texas and Utah, she excels in developing innovative legal strategies, conducting comprehensive case analysis and navigating complex courtroom proceedings.
