Dinsmore’s Christian Gonzalez Earns 3 Prestigious Diverse Attorney Awards
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Christian Gonzalez has earned three awards in recent weeks from diverse attorney organizations. He was selected as a recipient of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) 2020 Top Lawyers Under 40 Award, named a Top Latino Lawyers of 2019 by Latino Leader Magazine and named to Lawyers of Color's fifth Power List.
This year, Latino Leader Magazine selected 69 attorneys out of over 250 nominees to be named a Top Latino Lawyer. Gonzalez joins a list of attorneys with successful careers who are involved in their communities.
The HNBA 2020 Top Lawyers Under 40 Award honors HNBA members who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession and demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, and commitment to the Hispanic community while dedicating time to improving the legal profession. Gonzalez, who was recently elected executive officer of the HNBA, will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the HNBA/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference on March 20.
“As the son of Cuban immigrants who fled persecution and the first generation in my family to graduate college and continue to law school, I am humbled, honored, and thankful to all who have helped me to get this level and forever grateful for the sacrifices that family made,” Gonzalez said.
He joins Dinsmore’s diversity committee Chair Martiné Dunn and Managing Partner and Chairman George H. Vincent on the Lawyers of Color's fifth Power List, which recognizes legal professionals. The list includes the most influential minority attorneys and non-minority advocates in the nation.
“He’s an exceptionally good lawyer,” Dunn said. “He’s building a great body of work. He mentors young lawyers, and he’s the type of person who people only say great things about, even when he’s not in the room – and that is the true test of his work and reputation.”
A member of Dinsmore’s corporate department, Gonzalez has built a successful practice advising clients on a variety of complex issues including strategic growth planning, M&A transactions and other critical situations. He provides strategic advice in corporate, banking, and securities law. Gonzalez has experience servicing financial sector clients ranging from multi-billion dollar public financial institutions to community banks. He is co-chair of the firm’s national recruiting committee, a member of the finance and diversity committees, and was elected to firm’s board of directors as one of the youngest members and the first Hispanic to serve on the board.
Active in his community, Gonzalez serves as a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters, was a former board member for Hispanic Chamber of Columbus, past Region 10 president for the HNBA, and current board and executive committee member of the HNBA.
