Mark C. St. Amour

Biography

Mark’s practice focuses on intellectual property, specifically patent opinion and prosecution, with an emphasis on electro-mechanical arts.

Mark has worked with Fortune 500 and 100 corporations, large automotive clients, suppliers and organizations of all sizes. Regardless of their size, Mark provides his clients straightforward, strategic advice on their inventions, and takes a proactive approach in all aspects of his service. From drafting patent applications to managing client patent portfolios, Mark works to ensure his clients and their assets are optimally positioned.

Before embarking on his legal career, Mark worked as a mechanical engineer in the powertrain division of a leading automotive company. During his time there, he held various roles, including manufacturing process engineer, production and assembly support engineer, and product engineer. His mechanical engineering background equips him with the technical knowledge and experience to handle a variety of legal issues regarding technologies, including automotive components, production lines, assembly processes, and more.

Mark also has experience with a wide range intellectual property litigation, including: patent; copyright; trademark; and trade secret disputes. This experience includes cases in Federal Courts, as well as with the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). As a result of Mark’s extensive background, his clients receive the guidance needed to protect inventions effectively.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mark enjoys going rock climbing, skiing, and sailing with his family.
