October 1, 2015 – News Releases
Dinsmore & Shohl is pleased to announce five of its attorneys were named Litigation Stars in the 2016 edition of Benchmark Litigation®. Benchmark determines the top trial lawyers by interviewing other attorneys and clients.
Mindy Barfield is a Partner in the Litigation Department. Mindy practices in the area of complex commercial litigation with a focus on defending businesses in contract-related and business torts litigation; litigation of coal-related disputes; and complex insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Mindy also defends clients in cases involving breach of fiduciary duty; fraud; misrepresentation; conversion; and interference with a contractual relationship or prospective advantage. She practices out of the firm’s Lexington office.
Mark Bissinger is a partner in the Litigation Department and the co-chair of the firm’s Construction Law Practice Group. Mark has extensive litigation experience in state and federal court and has served as counsel in acquisition and asset sales with asset values in excess of $100 million. Mark has worked with both private and public entities in the preparation and negotiation of the construction agreements and represented owners and contractors in complex disputes involving multi-million dollar claims. He practices out of the firm’s Cincinnati office.
Kenyon Meyer’s extensive litigation experience includes breach of fiduciary duty litigation, commercial disputes in state and federal courts, wrongful discharge litigation, and trade secrets and restrictive covenant issues on behalf of employees and employers. He represents media entities throughout Kentucky in an advisory capacity and in litigation. Meyer also represents employers and employees in white collar criminal matters, both in the investigation stage and in litigation. He practices out of the firm’s Louisville office.
Mark Vander Laan is a litigator companies want on their side when the stakes are high. With 38 years experience trying cases and settling business disputes, his clients see him as fair-minded but aggressive in bet-the-company cases — always prepared to go to trial, but with an ability to quickly discern the best course of action for their business. Mark’s first step with any new matter is to sit down with his client and get a thorough understanding of their needs and tolerances. He practices out of the firm’s Cincinnati office.
Dr. Frank Woodside’s extensive litigation experience includes Fortune 500 companies, health care providers and hospitals. His experience includes serving as national trial counsel and MDL counsel for Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals in the Bendectin birth defect litigation; Procter & Gamble in the Rely tampon/toxic shock syndrome litigation and Denture Adhesive litigation; Dow Corning Corporation in the silicone gel breast implant litigation; and Rugby Laboratories in the Fen-Phen litigation. He practices out of the firm’s Cincinnati office.
