Four Dinsmore Attorneys Named Top in Trademark Law

February 11, 2019News Releases

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP and individual attorneys earn spot on prestigious trademark list

Dinsmore IP partners James Dimitrijevs, Lisa Parker Gates, Karen Gaunt and Lynda Roesch have been recognized by World Trademark Review (WTR) in its 2019 edition of WTR 1000, a listing of the standout firms and attorneys in trademark law. Dinsmore & Shohl LLP was also one of seven firms to receive recognition in Ohio.

WTR 1000 breaks down the global field into regions and is the only standalone directory that focuses entirely on trademark law. It focuses on each market to identify the top firms and attorneys.  To compile the list, researchers solicit reviews over a four-month period from hundreds of clients and lawyers. Firms are judged by the depth of services they can provide in support of the top trademark attorneys.

According to WTR 1000, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP “lives up to the premium standards set by its founding partners over a century ago; clients can count on efficient, cost-effective, comprehensive solutions.” They describe Dinsmore attorneys as “crack litigators, thorough, timely and innovative – a real pleasure to work with.”

Dimitrijevs oversees the worldwide trademark assets for major retailers as well as consumer products and industrial manufacturing companies. He protects the domain name rights of his clients through appropriate actions, works with Customs offices to prevent products bearing infringing marks from being imported or exported, and manages due diligence investigations for mergers and acquisitions.

New to the firm this year, Gates concentrates her intellectual property practice on strategic brand adoption and protection, trademark portfolio management, and all aspects of global branding. She counsels businesses in numerous segments and represents trademark owners before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Gaunt leads Dinsmore’s branding and advertising practice. She counsels clients on both transactional and litigation matters involving all aspects of domestic and international trademark and branding matters, copyright, advertising, internet, licensing, promotions and marketing matters. This is her third year listed in the WTR 1000.

With more than 30 years prosecuting trademark applications, Roesch focuses her practice on litigation involving intellectual property at the trial court and appellate levels. Roesch has also served as general counsel for the International Trademark Association.
