Dinsmore Welcomes Gary Donohue to Detroit Office
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is expanding its Detroit office with the addition of associate of counsel Gary Donohue.
Donohue comes to the firm with 20 years of experience, most notably in trademark law. His clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies down to small businesses, all of whom relied on Gary to deftly protect their brands.
“Our office is already an invaluable IP resource to several international brands, and Gary’s presence will only strengthen that,” Michigan office managing partner Mark Schneider said. “He’s put in two decades of great work in Michigan, and we’re thrilled to have him aboard.”
Donohue spent the past five years as a senior attorney with Brooks Kushman in Southfield, Michigan. His prior 15 years were with Ally Financial, formerly known as GMAC (General Motors Acceptance Corporation), where he provided counsel during the company’s rebrand and was responsible for its international trademark portfolio, patent litigation and management of outside counsel.
Donohue earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, his Master of Laws in intellectual property from Western Michigan’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his B.A. in history from Michigan State University.
