Biography
Hyeon focuses his practice on intellectual property matters. His experience includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the technical domains of autonomous vehicles and other automotive components and systems, wireless telecommunications, Internet of Things (IoT), medical devices, e-commerce systems and software, content delivery network, and image processing. Hyeon has collaborated with in-house counsels to prepare and prosecute patent applications in a manner that is aligned with various business goals of the clients. Hyeon has worked with foreign counsels on foreign patent applications in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Israel, Japan, and South Korea as well as with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) patent examiners to efficiently prosecute U.S. patent applications.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Hyeon has received certification as Engineer-In-Training and worked as an engineer for over a decade in the wireless communications and consumer electronics industries. Hyeon enjoys studying and learning about technologies and leverages the experience he gained from working as an engineer to assist his clients in finding creative ways to obtain patents and capitalize on their innovations.
