Dinsmore partner and board member Donna King Perry has been named to Louisville Business First's 2022 list of 20 People to Know in Law. As part of the honor, she spoke with the publication about her practice, law firm technology advancements, her life outside the office and more. An excerpt is below.

What role have data analytics and reporting had in dictating the direction and growth of your firm?
We use industry analytics to identify, monitor and anticipate trends and challenges our clients must navigate. From continued supply-chain disruptions to labor shortages to an uneven economy, we increasingly use sector-specific data to help our clients prepare and position themselves to leverage windows of opportunity. We also use analytics when offering alternative fee arrangements — such as forecasting how we staff client matters to focus the work of more experienced timekeepers on those segments where their expertise is most needed. Clients also provide recommendations in this area, and we continually review new tools to adopt.

Where in Louisville is the best place for a power breakfast, lunch or dinner?
Louisville has no shortage of great restaurants. I enjoy a variety: Jack Fry’s, First Watch and Mojitos.

What’s something most people would be surprised to learn about you?
Before going to law school, I was a public-school teacher in Austin, Texas.
