Robert A. “Bobby” Lucas to Lead Dinsmore’s Corporate Department
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is pleased to announce Bobby Lucas has been named chair of the firm’s corporate department. Lucas succeeds Susan B. Zaunbrecher, who chaired the department for the past 10 years.
Lucas, who also serves as Chicago office managing partner and a member of the firm’s board of directors, previously led Dinsmore’s business, acquisitions and securities practice group. His new post brings him full circle at the firm.
“I started at Dinsmore as a summer associate, and thanks to great mentors and a firm culture that values professional development, I’ve had the chance to learn and grow as a leader over the years as I’ve developed my law practice,” said Lucas. “Susan has been a tremendous example and mentor, and I’m honored to take the torch from her.”
A graduate of Xavier University and Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Lucas has counseled clients in all aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. His experience extends into commercial finance, where he represents borrowers and lenders in secured lending and finance transactions. He also represents private equity funds in portfolio company and bolt-on acquisitions. This broad experience, coupled with his personable style, said Zaunbrecher, make Lucas a natural fit to lead a diverse group of more than 200 corporate attorneys.
“Bobby brings great experience and energy to his leadership,” said Zaunbrecher. “I feel confident he will continue to drive the department’s strong track record of effective, strategic business counsel.”
Dinsmore’s corporate department includes practitioners across a full range of practice areas, including business, acquisitions and securities; business restructuring; commercial finance and banking; health care and public policy; real estate; and tax, benefits and wealth planning.
