Biography
Austin focuses his practice on helping clients best achieve their business objectives while maintaining compliance with international trade and national security regulations. His practice includes counseling on the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and trade sanctions and embargoes administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Austin also assists clients in navigating tariffs and maintaining compliance with Customs regulations, including issues of classification, country of origin, and marking rules.
Austin also has experience analyzing complex corporate securities fraud allegations, false disclosure allegations, and the international application of U.S. securities laws. Austin began his legal career at a D.C.-based firm specializing in corporate governance and compliance issues. Austin’s broad foundation in corporate compliance allows him to understand each client’s unique situation and to provide the needed counsel.
